Multi Hand Blackjack: The Basics

Online Gambling Casino Guide

Microgaming’s version of Multi Hand Blackjack is played with five standard decks of regular playing cards which are shuffled after each game. This is how the game goes. You place your bets, then the dealer deals you two cards for every hand you are playing  and one for the dealer. You then want to decide whether you hit or stand, judging by the dealers first card. Once complete the dealer reveals her second card and will Hit up to 17 or over.

The Basics of Multi Hand Blackjack.
If you receive two cards of the same denomination, you then have the opportunity to "Split" your hand. This means that you place an additional bet, of the same value as your initial bet for that hand. Remember that for every split you make you are placing an additional bet of the same value of the initial bet on that hand. Also be aware that it is not possible to get Blackjack once your hand has been split. This would mean that, for example: If you end up with a split which has a value of ten and an Ace it is considered to be 21 and not Blackjack.

You can choose to “Double Down” on a hand, if your hand adds up to 9, 10 or 11. Remember that as with a Split the Double Down bet is equal to the value of your original bet on that hand.

If the dealer has dealt himself and Ace then you have the option to take “Insurance”. Insurance is taken against the dealer getting Blackjack. Insurance will cost you half the value of the original bet. If the dealer does not have Blackjack then you will lose the insurance along with the bet you placed if you lose your hands. If the dealer gets Blackjack, then the insurance will pay you out at 2:1 odds.
