Spanish Blackjack is played with 8 decks containing 48 cards because all the 10’s have been removed. The dealer is forced to hit with a soft 17 and a player with 21 beats the dealers hand of 21. So to does the players hand of Blackjack beat the dealers hand of Blackjack.

Spanish Blackjack Rules
Late Surrender.
If you decide that your hand is not worth playing out then you have the option of Late Surrender which means that you can forfeit half of your initial bet in return for not playing the hand any further. With Spanish Blackjack you can Late Surrender even after you have Doubled Down.
Splitting Rules.
Once you have split a pair of aces and you are then dealt a card with the value of 10 it will give you a standard 21 and not be counted as Blackjack.
You can not split more that 3 times, which gives you a total of 4 hands.
You can re-split aces.
Once you have re-split aces you will only be eligible to receive one additional card to each hand and then you will be forced to stand.
Double Down Rules.
You can double down once you have reveived you first two cards.
By Doubling Down a bet equivalent to your initial bet is placed.
A Double Down is allowed on any hand, including after hitting and after a Split.
You can then Double down once more.
Once you have Blackjack then you can not Double Down.
Insurance Rules.
You will be allowed to take insurance if the dealers first card is an Ace and will cost you half your original bet. If the dealer does get Blackjack, you will be paid 2:1.
If the dealer does not get Blackjack then the bet amount will be deducted from what you have on the table and the game will continue.
Note that insurance only covers your first bet and is not applicable to Splits or Doubles and it is played independently from your original bet.
